Abs of Steel

The Best Ab Exercise List

  1. Bicycle Crunch Exercise. This ab exercise generally ranks at the top of the list of best ab exercises if done properly.
  2. Captain's Chair Exercise. Another great one, but you need equipment (or creativity) for this one.
  3. Ab Crunch on an Exercise Ball. I bet you have an exercise ball at home.
  4. Single Leg Bridge Exercise. The best unknown core exercise.
  5. Vertical Leg Crunch. Ouch!
  6. Long Arm Crunch. Another version of a favorite.
  7. Reverse Crunch. Kick up the feet with the torso holding steady.
  8. Plank (Hover) Exercise . A basic from Yoga.
  9. Traditional (Basic) Abdominal Crunch
  10. Crossover Crunch. Good for the obliques!
  11. Seated Oblique Twists with Medicine Ball. Tough, but effective.
  12. Oblique Crunch. You know this one.
  13. Plank on a Balance Ball. Take the basic plank to a new level.
  14. Alternating Supermans. Don't forget to work the posterior chain.
  15. V-Sit Exercise. Double ouch!
Do the Bicycle Crunch:
  • Lie flat on the floor with your lower back pressed to the ground and contract your core muscles.
  • With your hands gently holding your head, lift your knees to about a 45-degree angle.
  • Slowly, at first, go through a bicycle pedal motion.
  • Alternately touching your elbows to the opposite knees as you twist back and forth.
    • Breath evenly throughout the exercise.
